This week saw the launch of all the Wonderful Roald Dahl digikits in downloadable format at Daisytrail. I previously had the pleasure of creating some samples and ideas using collections 1 & 2 when they were first launched at Create & Craft. If you missed my blog post about them you can see it here link . This post encompasses some card making ideas using the new collection 3, containing the following individual digikits. Esio Trot, The Witches, Matilda, The Enormous Crocodile and The Magic Finger. (all compatible with Serif Craft Artist 2 software). Below are a mix of ideas for Inspiration.
A cute card created using the sweetest little mice from 'The Witches'
Inked background, shaped toppers and some coloured gems and flower.
Perfect for Halloween, a fun card created using 'The Witches'.
Once printed and cut out, I matt and layered the side and central topper, onto card that had 'mowed lawn' distress ink applied. Wording on the side panels is with ref: to the Roald Dahl Treasury - The Witches. Punched out a cloud shape for the top and finished with some gems and glitter gel painted on the witch.
I teamed up 'The Enormous Crocodile' kit and some of the Gobblefunk text for this one. Shadow really lifts the elements and a little glitter gel painted onto the Roly - poly bird for sparkle.
I love the name of the little monkey 'Muggle - wump' that naughty crocodile in the 'Enormous Crocodile' was certainly perplexed by the antics of all the animals in the story, trying to stop him eating children! This would be a good card for someone starting a new adventure, new job etc.. finished with some tiny gems and wording to pull the theme together.
Quite a simple layered card, using the 'Esio Trot' digikit. I alternated the colours of the gems. Punched a heart out of material to place behind the image and lead the eye to focus on the beautiful art work of Quentin Blake.
In the story of 'Esio Trot' Mr Hoppy is very much in love with a widow called Mrs. Silver and in his quest for love goes to extraordinary lengths to win her love. This is him in the pet shop purchasing not 1 but 140 tortoises, hence the caption I added 'I would do anything for you'.
This card was made using The 'Matilda' digikit. I used a circle element from the kit, making it small and replicating it to add interest to the background, then layered elements. Wording added to work in harmony with the beautiful imagery.
Cropping and layering papers on this card layout, for any occasion, finished with some delicate glittery flowers. The textured papers in this kit are great.
A Scrapbooking layout created using 'The Magic Finger' materials cropped and brush / edge finishes added.
Same kit, but one for the boys this time, papers blended a little matt and layering
some gems to complete.
These digikits have such scope for fun and imaginative projects, the ideas here are just a taster.
Each of the kits can now be purchased individually from Daisytrail, so whether you have a particular favourite or wish to build a collection, the choice is yours.
